Reuben’s Franschhoek

Reuben’s Franshoek is moving & will close as of 29 May. Reuben’s will be run as a pop-up bistro-style eatery on Chamonix Wine Estate, from 1 June 2016.

Reuben’s will officially close as of 30th of May, but customers need not worry about missing out on their Reuben’s fix when visiting Franschhoek! The team will be running Reuben’s at Racine, a special pop-up restaurant at Reuben’s bistro-style eatery on Chamonix Wine Estate (wine tasting centre), from the 1st of June. Open for lunch and Friday to Monday dinners, this cozy restaurant – with its wooden floors, soft lighting and authentic rietdak ceiling – overlooks a mountain stream, making it the perfect location for relaxed winter dining. Racine’s popular menu will be offered alongside a selection of Reuben’s seasonal favourites, which will change regularly. Seating just 40 patrons, reservations for Reuben’s at Racine will be essential.

Cape Town

 Reuben’s at the One & Only

Situated in the luxurious One & Only resort in Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Reuben’s offers its’ unique take on distinctly South African cuisine. Diners can look forward to a sumptuous selection of truly South African classics updated with a modern sophisticated taste. Staff are often exchanged between this restaurant and the mother kitchen in Franschhoek to allow for a cross-pollination of skills and inspiration.

Abalone House

 Reuben’s in Paternoster

Renowned five-star boutique guesthouse, Abalone House has crossed the threshold into the international hospitality arena.

A coveted and highly-acclaimed Reuben’s restaurant opened in October 2013, elevating Abalone House to new heights of luxury, decadence and service. The finest local cuisine is now showcased in an atmosphere of pure relaxation and sensual enjoyment.

“I have always loved Paternoster, since I first visited as a child of 14,” says Reuben. “The place still fascinates me and keeps drawing me back. There’s a unique atmosphere there that is relaxed and special, so I am delighted to have the opportunity to open a Reuben’s restaurant and explore the local ingredients, cook them simply and serve flavoursome food. The menu will be ever changing, though we will certainly keep the signature dishes.”

What we offer:

  • Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are served in Reuben’s Restaurant.
  • The vibey Bar is ideal for socialising over cocktails, wine, French champagne or one of the single malt whiskies and brandies on offer.
  • The elegant Reuben’s Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner to both Abalone House residents and members of the public, but because it is such a popular venue, make a reservation beforehand to enjoy this sumptuous cuisine!
  • If it’s a sunny afternoon, the place to be is on the brand new deck: bask in the late afternoon sun while drinking in the fresh sea air and glorious sea views.

Racine Restaurant

 Reuben at Racine restaurant at Chamonix

Enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by a glass of Chamonix wine, whilst overlooking the private picturesque surroundings of Racine restaurant situated right on the foot of the Franschhoek Mountains. Aptly named after the French word for root, Reuben Riffel returns to Chamonix where he started his culinary career to create simple sophisticated bistro style cuisine of international standards.

The Miso Braised Beef Cheek is fast becoming a signature dish of the establishment, and for those who prefer less complicated meals you can rest assured to know that each and every one of the seventeen dishes on the menu permeates with natural flavours and melt in your mouth texture.
